The full BiteWave app currently has Finnish UI with English fish data added for US/Canada/UK markets. You can already explore the map, science page, and select English-named species like Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, and Muskellunge on lakes like Lake Erie or Mille Lacs Lake.

Full English UI translation is coming in v0.30. For now, key terms are bilingual.

Saalis uses browser storage (localStorage) to save your settings (language, hunting area, harvest log). We also use anonymous analytics (Plausible — no tracking cookies). Your hunting data stays on your device.

Saalis is a hunter's tool — NOT an official source of information.

By using Saalis you accept that:

1. You are responsible for verifying your licenses (hunting card, area permits, club membership). Saalis does not issue or verify any permit.

2. You are responsible for caliber and ammunition legality for the species and region. Saalis's caliber suggestions are GENERAL examples — verify against current Finnish Hunting Act/Decree (615/1993, 666/1993) and current regional regulations on riista.fi.

3. You are responsible for hunting seasons — these vary by region and year. Saalis's season data is indicative only.

4. You are responsible for safety — target identification, backstop, range, awareness of other hunters. Saalis cannot see your surroundings.

5. You are responsible for harvest reporting to OmaRiista, game handling and hygiene, and any wounded-animal tracking.

6. Saalis is not liable for your hunting activities, decisions, their consequences, or any legal violations, damages or injuries.

7. The activity index (0–100) is a statistical weather/activity estimate — NOT a prediction of harvest. Game behavior is inherently uncertain.
